Located in the heart of Isla Vista, Anisq’ Oyo’ Park was the first community-instituted park, constructed by volunteers in 1970 before the creation of the Isla Vista Recreation and Park District. The park features a rustic mindmill, a freshwater pond, children’s play equipment, a public restroom, and picnic tables. The pond is home to many ducks, egrets, herons, frogs, turtles, and other wildlife. There is also a large amphitheatre available for rent by public members and other student organizations for use of large public functions.
